The Memorable Times Café is off to a fine start. An enthusiastic gathering of over twenty people met in October. The theme was "school days", which sparked many fascinating conversations among the participants grouped around three large tables. Over coffee and treats, caregivers, people living with dementia, volunteers, and organizers from the Vermont Council on Aging and the ABLE Library shared their experiences from "back in the day" when they were schoolkids. Two attendees were sisters who had graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre when it was still lodged at 60 Washington Street, the building where we were meeting at that moment!
The original blackboards are still in place:
There was plenty of time for chatting and getting to know one another:
Some participants shared humorous memories of their school days!
The next Memorable Times Café is on Wednesday, December 19th, from 1:30-3:00 PM at 60 Washington Street, in Barre, Vermont.
