George Woodard comes to Memory Cafe
The Next Memory Cafe Saturday, October 14th, 2017 10 AM to 11:30 AM Montpelier Memory Cafe Guests: Local Filmmakers George Woodard and Producer Joan Brace O'Neal of Hanging Mudflap Productions Actor, musician, farmer and director, Woodard is well-known in theater circles in Vermont, where he was instrumental in the creation of the Groundhog Opry, which continues to this day. George and Joan are working on a film set in WWII France. Called The Farm Boy, it's a story loosely based on his father's experience as a G.I. during the war, and is sure to encourage questions and personal reminiscences from everyone in attendance. An article about the latest project, "The Farm Boy Films 'The Farm Boy' ", appeared in The Waterbury Record/Stowe Reporter this April.
Montpelier Memory Cafe meets the second Saturday of each month, from 10 AM to 11:30 AM, at Montpelier Senior Activity Center, 58 Barre Street in Montpelier. People living with memory loss and their care partners are all invited to attend. Call Liz at 229-9630 for more details. The Cafe is a social gathering where people in early to mid-stage memory loss disorders, and their care partners, can come together to connect and support one another in a relaxed, non-judgmental atmosphere. Participants enjoy social time and food, as well as activities and exercise. These may include art, music, dance and movement. (Please note that the Memory Cafe is not a drop-off or adult day care center. Each participant is expected to be accompanied by a care partner.) Upcoming Memory Cafes:
