Dementia-Friendly Puppetry - a multi-generational project
“Art opens the mind.” –Dr. Luis Fornazzari
We are seeking eight senior citizens with memory disorders and eight middle‐school or high‐school age youth to participate in a multi‐generational puppet project.
The project will consist of a series of ten classes on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00‐4:30pm from October 6‐December 8. These classes will be led by professional artists from No Strings Marionette Company and culminate in a public performance in January. Through art, performance, and creative play, all involved will gain an increased understanding of memory disorders, an enhanced ability to communicate, and strengthened community ties.
There is a cost of $20 per participant. Financial aid is available.
If you are interested in participating, please contact: Montpelier Senior Activity Center 223‐2518, msac@montpelier‐vt.org
